Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
At this time I do not take insurance and am private pay only. I offer a sliding scale for those that need it. You can use credit cards, debit cards, FSA and HSA accounts to pay for therapy.
What can I expect for my intake appointment?
After you schedule your intake appointment, I will invite you to log on to the secure client portal where I will ask you to complete an intake packet before your first appointment. You will need to put a method of payment on file to be charged at the time of your appointment. I will send you a Google Meet link for you to join at the time of your appointment. During your intake appointment, I will ask some background questions, including demographic and physical health, and complete a diagnostic assessment. A diagnostic assessment is a series of questions that looks at your mental health history and symptoms and allows your therapist to have a better understanding of what your mental health needs are. I will provide a mental health diagnosis, talk through my findings with you, and answer any questions you might have. Together we can decide how often you would like to meet and when you would like to schedule your next session for.
What will we work on in therapy?
I believe that you are the expert of your experience and as such, therapy is largely driven by what you want to work on. Therapy is a safe space where you can process through your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a judgement-free zone, without worrying about requesting extra emotional labor from those close to you. I will help you get to know yourself better, uncover new perspectives and connect dots to discover why you respond in certain ways. You are able to try on new ideas and explore aspects of yourself that you may not feel comfortable doing yet in your everyday life. I will identify and teach you skills and coping strategies to help you manage day to day life more smoothly. I will help you work towards your goals, whatever they might be.
